Abstract
The article discusses Apple's ongoing challenges in attracting core gamers to its platforms, despite its dominance in mobile gaming through the iPhone. While Apple has introduced a new Games app and made improvements to its developer tools, these efforts are seen as insufficient to address the fundamental issues that deter serious gamers, such as high costs and a lack of desirable games. The article highlights that nonmobile Mac gaming offers poor value compared to consoles and gaming PCs, with significantly lower performance at higher prices. Ultimately, it argues that Apple needs to implement substantial changes to its hardware and software offerings to appeal to the gaming community effectively. [Extracted from the article]
