Abstract
The article focuses on Minnesota authors and publishers' efforts to support the state's immigrant community amid the recent deployment of ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agents in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. Events included a group reading fundraiser for the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota, public conversations with international writers organized by PEN America and local publishers, and Authors for Minnesota Day, where nearly 60 authors participated in book signings across 26 bookstores to raise $60,000 for immigrant and women's support organizations. These initiatives aimed to foster community, counter disinformation, and highlight the role of literature and writers in resisting authoritarian tactics. [Extracted from the article]
