The article offers information on the challenges faced by the Native American women in the U.S. who are experiencing a crisis of violence and sexual abuse. It highlights a report which shows that the murder rate for women living on reservations is ten times higher than the national average; and mentions that Military historian John Grenier explains that the "first way of war" in the U.S. included killing indigenous women and children and brutalizing other indigenous noncombatants.
