Abstract

The article explores the anatomical depiction of Apollo, the ideal male figure in Greek mythology, in a statue by sculptor Pietro Francavilla. It discusses the positioning of Apollo's testicles, noting that the right testicle is lower than the left, contrary to typical asymmetry in men. The author questions whether this portrayal was intentional or based on a belief about ideal male anatomy. Further research is suggested to clarify this anatomical representation.
